Explore Ridgeland Wins Multiple Awards Including DMO of the Year by the Mississippi Tourism Association
Jackson, Miss. – The team and partners of Explore Ridgeland were recently honored at the Mississippi Tourism Association (MTA) 2024 Governor’s Conference on Tourism, held October 2-4, 2024, in Hattiesburg. The conference recognized excellence in tourism through 22 awards, and Explore Ridgeland was the standout winner, receiving four of the 22 honors, including the coveted DMO of the Year award.
Explore Ridgeland was awarded DMO of the Year for its budget category ($1,000,000 to $2,999,999), recognizing its exceptional efforts in destination marketing and management. This award spotlights Ridgeland's strategic initiatives, including a comprehensive rebrand, the launch of Mississippi’s first True Omni Kiosk at its new Visitor Center, and the introduction of the city's first Bikeshare Program. These achievements, alongside a notable 8% growth in lodging and restaurant revenues, underscore Explore Ridgeland’s commitment to enhancing the visitor experience and driving economic success.
