Ridgeland Celebrates Cycling All Year Long!
Although May is officially National Bicycle Month, the City of Ridgeland celebrates cycling all year long with many great events and activities. So grab your bike, or rent one in Ridgeland, and enjoy all the fabulous cycling that Ridgeland has to offer for both the serious biker and casual cruiser.
Ridgeland is Mississippi’s top cycling destination and a designated Bicycle Friendly Community by the League of American Bicyclists and only one of 144 cities in the U.S. to hold this honor. Enjoy the ride on Ridgeland’s 14.76 miles of Multi-Use Trail and 9 miles of bicycle lanes. The Multi-Use Trail provides users access to the Mississippi Craft Center, the Barnett Reservoir and our National Park treasure, The Natchez Trace Parkway. Side trails lead to cafes, shops and hotels.
Ridgeland’s BMX and mountain biking will thrill adrenaline seekers. Ridgeland Mountain Bike Trails offer 10 miles of singletrack rolling hills and rock formations for the beginner and experienced mountain bikers. Get a 2-day visitor pass for $3 at the trailhead kiosk or online at Tri-County Mountain Bike Association. To check trail conditions, call (601) 707-9878. The Magnolia Ridge BMX Track holds practices every Tuesday and Thursday with racing on Saturday and Sunday. For more info, visit magnoliaridgebmx.com or call (601) 572-7716.
Bike Shops in Ridgeland can help you with all your cycling needs; there’s The Bike Crossing (601) 856-0049 and Indian Cycle Fitness at (601) 899-9755.
