KidFest! Ridgeland | Four days of affordable family fun in April
KidFest! Ridgeland is four days of affordable family fun this Spring! The festival will be held Saturday & Sunday, April 14-15 and Saturday & Sunday, April 21-22, 2018 at Freedom Ridge Park.
KidFest! Ridgeland features a variety of shows, interactive activities and lots of other attractions which are all included in the low admission price. The festival opens at 9:00 am on Saturdays and noon on Sundays. Festival closes at 6:30 pm each day. New this year is Scales, Tails & Teeth Walk-Thru Reptile Zoo! Meet Jimmy Riffle and Scott Cohen of Animal Planet’s hit TV show “Gator Boys.” Jimmy, Scott and the Gator Boys road crew will answer your questions about this unique grouping of turtles, snakes, lizards and other reptiles. Appearing both weekends.
Also new this year is the Disc-Connected K9s World Champion Frisbee Dog Team. This internationally acclaimed professional Frisbee dog touring show is comprised of the largest collection of the best Frisbee Dogs on the planet. All of their shows carry a message of fun, athleticism, canine bonding and promote dog rescuing. We promise you will be laughing and clapping in awe at the tricks these dogs perform. Appearing April 14-15 only.
The crowd favorite, Zoppe an Italian Family Circus returns for both weekends. The Zoppe circus, starring Nino the clown, is propelled by a central story that features acrobatic feats, equestrian showmanship, canine capers, clowning and plenty of audience participation.
Audiences will enjoy Hilby, the Skinny German Juggle Boy who creates magical and hilarious moments. Watch out for catapults, marshmallows, lots of Velcro and the bowling ball of terror. Appearing April 21-22 only.
Skin & Bones Comedy Circus is a unique presentation of trained dogs and potbellied pigs whose human friends present a very entertaining kid-tested, parent-approved show of comedy and fun. Appearing both weekends.
Backyard Circus is an old-fashioned backyard circus where as many as 30 children from the audience have the opportunity to dress up and be the circus performers. The show includes a lion tamer, strongman, butterfly ballerinas and Wanda, the tightrope walker. Appearing both weekends.
Children and adult festival guests will the opportunity to dress up as frogs, fish, mushrooms or rainbow twirlers and be the featured performers for The Nylon Zoo. Following a trip to The Nylon Zoo, take a ride on the carousel, a train or a carnival ride.
The Temporary Tattoos booth is always a festival favorite, as children get their faces, arms and legs decorated with festival designs. For boys and girls of all ages Touch-A-Truck will have the opportunity to be up close and personal with large trucks and equipment provided by the Ridgeland Department of Recreation & Parks.
