This beautiful attraction blends nature, art, and serenity in a way that will captivate visitors of all kinds. Whether you're a nature lover, art enthusiast, or simply looking for a peaceful escape, Ridgeland's Wildflower Field and Art Park is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered.
Located along Jackson Street, just off Interstate 55 and not far from the historic Natchez Trace Parkway, the Ridgeland Wildflower Field is an expansive public garden showcasing nature's beauty year-round. The field evolves with the seasons, presenting different blooms, but it’s always an enchanting sight.

The heart of the field is its vibrant zinnias. Known for their bright colors and ability to withstand Mississippi’s hot summers, these zinnias are complemented by other flowers like sunny sulfur cosmos, delicate baby’s breath, and bold black-eyed Susans. The stunning mix creates a colorful landscape perfect for relaxation, photos, and appreciating the beauty of nature.
The beauty doesn’t stop at the flowers. As you walk through the garden, you'll encounter sculptures made from recycled and up-cycled metal, a creative touch reflecting Ridgeland’s commitment to sustainability. Recently, human-sized butterfly wing installations were added, making it an even more enchanting spot for photos, and adding an artistic flair to the field. And coming very soon, locals and travelers alike will be able to sit and relax under the new butterfly pavilion as they enjoy nature all around them.

Though you can enjoy the field from your car, we highly recommend walking along the winding paths for an up-close experience. Not only will you be immersed in the flowers, but you’ll also have the chance to pick a few blooms to take home—a practice encouraged to add a personal touch to your visit. Guests are welcome to pick up to a dozen flowers to take with them, but we kindly ask that everyone follow the field’s guidelines. To ensure the flowers continue to bloom beautifully for seasons to come, please read the rules before picking, being mindful not to pull from the roots. And, of course, always stay on the designated walking paths to help preserve this special space. For a different experience, hop on your bike or grab an Explore Ridgeland bikeshare bike and ride along the trail to fully take in the beauty.

The Wildflower Field also attracts an array of wildlife. Butterflies, bees, and various insects are frequent visitors throughout the spring, summer, and fall months. Birds can also be spotted, adding to the peaceful atmosphere. The combination of colorful flowers and wildlife creates a near perfect tranquil escape.
The beauty of the Wildflower Field extends all the way through fall, ensuring that visitors can enjoy vibrant blooms well beyond summer. As the seasons shift, the field also welcomes the Ridgeland Scarecrow Trail, a charming autumn tradition that brings whimsical, handcrafted scarecrows to the park—adding a festive touch to this already magical setting.
