Where is Ridgeland?

Located in the soulful state of Mississippi, Ridgeland is a city that’s brimming with charm. From the lush greenery along the interstate to the beautiful Barnett Reservoir (or otherwise known as the Rez), it’s filled with so much natural wonder for you to immerse in. In fact, the city and volunteers of Keep Mississippi Beautiful and Keep Ridgeland Beautiful recently teamed up to redesign the wildflower field to look even more lush. And since it’s in the Mississippi’s Jackson metropolitan area, there are many restaurants and shopping locations in this lovely city — giving you the best of both worlds.

When should you visit?

As part of the South, the best time to visit Ridgeland is either during the season of spring or summer. For the former, the temperature can range between the 60s and 80s. This is especially great for outdoor activities like biking and hiking in the Natchez Trace Parkway. Meanwhile, summer’s a perfect time to experience the best that the Rez has to offer. From sailing and fishing, to kayaking and paddling, these refreshing water activities are ideal with temperatures in the 90s throughout the season.

Alternatively, Ridgeland is a wonderful place to visit during the fall and winter as well. Temperatures range from the 50s to the 60s during these seasons, which is especially great if you consider yourself as a snowbird. And as neither of these are peak seasons, the smaller crowds in Ridgeland mean you’ll get to immerse yourself more in the city’s charming culture.

What are the travel costs?

It’s safe to say that making a budget is an indispensable part of planning your trip. And thankfully, Ridgeland isn’t a particularly pricey destination.
